About Denise LaVey

Interior designer Denise LaVey has traveled the globe, earning the moniker “The Destination Designer” by discovering unique design elements, cultivating a deeper understanding of faraway places, and uncovering talented artisans untapped by the world at-large. In doing so, she has broadened her own soulful horizons, in turn inspiring clients to create spaces that reflect their unique sense of self and style.

Denise is known for her exceptional ability to work in partnership with clients, ensuring that the final designs fulfill their desires and vision for their properties. Whether it’s a boutique hotel in the Caribbean, a centuries-old farmhouse in New England, or a casita on the Baja California peninsula, projects come together with charm, consummate skill and fresh, smart, creative ideas.

As a designer, LaVey exudes an eclectic style that combines relaxed elegance with clean lines and subtle textures to create an inspiring environment. Denise’s love of and respect for a wide range of aesthetic styles, matched with her commitment to designing and curating the highest quality furnishings, textiles, accessories and finishes, has yielded a body of work that is unified and distinctive, without reverting to one signature look.

Prior to establishing her own design firm in 2002, LaVey was a principal interior designer with Tutt Interiors, Inc. of Miami Beach. Working alongside Wallace Tutt III, one of Miami’s most respected celebrity designers, she collaborated closely on high profile projects in Miami and the Bahamas.

Since establishing her eponymous interior design practice, LaVey’s projects include homes in New York City, the Hamptons, Cabo San Lucas, Phoenix, Aspen, Montana and Los Angeles. Her work has been highlighted in the design publications Phoenix Home & GardenMaine Home + DesignFlorida Architecture, and Florida Design. She was recognized as one of House Beautiful’s New Wave.
